The tell
Heavy, and it DENTS instead of chipping, because copper is a metal, so a tap squashes it where a rock would shatter. Weathers green, and sometimes wears a red or black skin instead, which is still copper underneath.
Stick to public Keweenaw beaches. Mine property and stamp sands are private or restricted, and the difference matters.
